MIS605 Assignment 1 Individual Written Assessment
Task Summary
In response to the case study provided, identify the functional and the non-functional requirement for the required information system and then build a Use Case Diagram and document set of use cases.
Context
System analysis methods and skills are of fundamental importance for a Business Analyst. This assessment allows you to enhance your system analysis skills by capturing the business and then functional and non-functional requirement of a system. It helps you in identifying “what” the proposed system will do and “how”?
Instructions
1. Please read the attached MIS605_ Assessment 1_Case Study. Note that every piece of information provided in the following case serves a purpose.
2. Once you have completed reading the case study. Please answer the following questions:
Question 1 (10 mark).
Identify all the human and non-human actors within the system. Provide brief description against every actor.
Question 2 (30 marks).
Using the information provided in the case study, build a Use Case Diagram using any diagramming software.
Note: Please make assumptions where needed.
Question 3 (60 marks).
Document all use cases (use case methods). All use cases identified in the Use Case Diagram in Question 2 must be elaborated in detail. Please document each use case using the following template:
Use Case N umber
Use Case Type Base/Abstract (Extends or Includes)
Use Case N ame

MIS605 Assignment 2 Design Specification
Task Summary
Based on your responses to Assessment 1 – Written assessment, perform process and data modelling and develop and document a n umber of design diagrams using UML (including Context Diagram, Level 0 and Level 1 Data Flow Diagram, Entity Relationship Diagram).
Context
In Assessment 1, you performed a comprehensive requirement analysis for the given case study. With an in-depth understanding of the functional requirements of the System, you are now required to perform further analysis through process and data modelling. In doing so, you also need to provide a preliminary data storage design for the System.
Both process modelling and data modelling can be used to provide deeper understanding of a new System. Thus, they are an integral part of System Analysis. Process modelling describe processes – i.e. the sequence of activities that people do; while data modelling seeks to describe the data flows through those processes. Data flow diagrams (including context diagrams) and entity relationship diagrams are the most common process and data modelling techniques used in industry.
Instructions
1. Please read case study provided with assessment 1. Please note that every piece of information provided in this case study serves a purpose.
2. Please complete the following tasks:
Task 1.
Create a Context Diagram for the given case study.
(15 marks)
Task 2.
Create and document a Level 0 Data Flow Diagram (DFD). The Level 0 DFD should contain all the major high-level processes of the System and how these processes are interrelated.
(20 marks)
Task 3.
Select three important processes from Level 0 DFD, decompose each of the processes into a more explicit Level 1 DFD.
(24 marks)
Task 4.
For the given case study, provide an Entity Relationship Diagram (ERD).
(20 marks)
Task 5.
For the given case study, identify the data stores including the files that are not part of ERD.
(5 marks)
Task 6.
Translate the ERD you developed in Task 4 into a physical relational database design. Document database tables and their relationship in MSWord file. Normalise your database design to the Third Normal Form (3NF).
(16 marks)
Please note that your responses to the tasks above must relate to the case study provided.
Word Count and Layout
· The total word count for the written assessment should be no more than 2200 words.
· Please provide all your answers in a MS word document.
· All diagrams must be drawn using any diagramming tool but the same should be copied to MS Word document.
· Please note that you are NOT required to copy the task description over to the MS Word document. Use the task n umber to indicate which task your response relates to.
· The recommended font size is 12 with 1.5 spacing.

Submission Instructions
Please submit the written assessment via the Assessment l ink within Assessment 2. The Learning Facilitator will provide feedback via the Grade Centre in the LMS portal. Feedback can be viewed in My Grades.
MIS605 Assignment 3 Video Collage
MIS605 Systems Analysis and Design - Assessment 3 – Group Presentation
Task Summary
For the given case study provided with assessment 1, apply human interface design skills and design a prototype, either as a web application or a mobile application. Create a short video explaining your prototype to a hypothetical client.
Context
In assessment 1 and 2, you conducted requirement analysis and made a high-level design for the given case study. Using the human interface design principles and techniques, now it is time for you to develop a prototype for the case study provided in assessment 1. You have to consider a scenario in which you are selling your prototype to your potential client with your team. Certainly, you would have to show the interfaces to the clients. You would also have to explain to the client how this prototype caters all the functional and the non-functional requirements that were part of the original case.
Task Instructions
Group formation
· Form groups of 2 - 4 members.
· Please read the attached MIS605_Assessment 3_Group Working Guide document for more information about group formation.
Case scenario
· Please read case study provided with assessment 1. Please note that every piece of information provided in this case study serves a purpose.
Complete the following tasks:
Part A – The Prototype
Based on the case study as well as the requirement analysis and design specification you completed for Assessment 1 and Assessment 2 respectively, develop a prototype for the System. The prototype must address the following criteria:
· conform to human interface design guidelines in Module 5
· reflect all major functional requirements in the case and additional requirements in Assignment 1
· be in a digital form, viz. Please note that hand drawn on a piece of paper is not acceptable
· enable all actors of the System to perform their designated task
· be designed as either a web application or as a mobile app.
(60 marks)
Part B - Video
Record a video of all group members presenting the prototype that your group built in Task 1 to a hypothetical client. The length of the video should be between 13 – 15 minutes. As a minimum, your group needs to demonstrate:
· how the prototype/IS solution meets the business requirement of the given case
· the advantages of the type of application of choice over the other. For example, if the prototype is a mobile app, demonstrate advantages of a mobile app over a web application
· how each actor in the System will interact with the System, viz. how they would be able to complete their tasks through the System
(40 marks)
Part C – Peer Evaluation
· It is required that each individual student complete a confidential peer evaluation on the other team members.
· Please see documents Group Work Guidelines and Group Participation Matrix found in Assessment 3 l ink via main navigation menu.
Referencing
It is essential that you use appropriate APA style for citing and referencing if needed.
Submission Instructions
There are two submission points for this assessment:
Graded submission- Group submission
· Each team will submit a video via the Assessment 3 section found in the main navigation menu of the subject Blackboard site. All participants should be visible in the video and so should be the solution, preferably in Microsoft PowerPoint.
· You are required to compress the file into a single zip f ile.
Peer Evaluation – Individual Submission
Each individual student is to submit a completed team participation score matrix document in the Assessment 3 – Peer Evaluation submission li nk. Please submit a peer review correctly, as no submission may result is zero grading for this assessment criteria.
